Disclaimer: X-Men is Marvel's. It's not mine, nor
will it ever be, nor would I want to own it. Too much
work. :) Though, I wouldn't mind writing for Marvel
Comics...But I'm running off task so me be quiet now.

Author's Notes: This is the start of a series of
vignettes, which I actually plan on continuing long.
The first story was inspired from a poll discussion

A Single Moment:
Score One For Me
by Krissy

Scott Summers leaned against the side of the small hot tub with a content smile. The water was warm, perfect to relax in, after a day working out in the Danger Room. Logan, the one man Scott nearly despised, had been his partner to spar, vocally and physically, throughout the training. So, this momentarily relaxation came as a very nice thing.

"Scott?" Scott glanced up at the timid voice. Jean Grey, his girlfriend, stood before him in a pale blue bikini with a towel wrapped around her lower body. When he didn't respond, Jean frowned, watching him intently. "I hope I'm not intruding..."

Shaking his head, he smiled invitingly to her, "Oh, no, not at all."

Shooting him a grin, she walked slowly over to the side of the tub and slowly slid the swimsuit off of her body. She hid a smile as she watched him. He was trying to turn his head, not looking, but wasn't succeeding. Easing into the water, she nearly floated as she seated herself next to him.

"So, have a good day today?"

"Mmm-hmm," Scott nodded absent-mindedly as his gaze traveled up her athletic form.

"Do anything interesting?"

"Mm-hmm..."

"Are you even listening to me?" Jean rose an eyebrow as he again murmured, not really paying much attention to her actual words. Grinning to herself, she continued, "So you won't mind if Logan and I run away and join the circus?"

"Mm... What?!" Scott blinked beneath his glasses and stared at her.

Jean just smiled at him, and patted his shoulder, "I knew that would get your attention, dear. See... I knew using Logan's name would pull you out of your gutter mind."

"I don't go into the 'gutter,'" Scott protested.

"You actually expect us to believe that?" A light voice growled, obviously unbelieving.

"Logan," Jean smiled as the loner X-Man appeared at the side of the tub. He was dressed in jean shorts and a flannel shirt, that hung loosely over his bare chest. A cigar was at the side of his mouth, and a sarcastic smile played his lips.

"Jean," Logan smiled at the auburn haired woman. Smirking, his eyes rose from her face and lower, then drifted higher to her eyes. They smiled at each other.

"Would you like to join us?" Jean offered. She brought her hand out from the water, where it rested on her thigh, and gestured to the spot in front of them. "There's plenty of room."

Logan glanced over to the prone form next to her, and smirked as he nodded. "Love to, Jeannie."

Scott didn't bother to try and hide his sigh, "Do you *have* to?" he nearly growled.

"'Fraid, so, One-Eye." Logan nodded, feigning pity, as he stubbed the cigar out. He turned his attention back to Jean, and grinned. As if doing it on purpose, to annoy Scott, he slowly stripped the red flannel off his chest and threw it to the ground. No one could miss Jean's blush as she turned away from the 'show.'

"You just have to do that, don't you," Scott's frown deepened, but didn't say anything else while Logan shrugged.

"Cyke," Logan began as he slipped into the water, situating himself as he watched the female of the trio, "Never mind, you don't deserve my answer."

"What?"

"Nothing," Logan turned his attention back to Jean, and grinned, "So, want to see what a real man can do?"

Jean turned back to him, hiding a smile as she spoke, "And where is this 'real man'?"

Logan opened to his mouth to speak, but just growled lightly as he gave her another once over, now that he was closer to see her form.

Scott took this opportunity to slip his arm around Jean's shoulders, pulling her into the nook of his arm. When she snuggled in closer, he shot Logan a smile, which clearly said 'back off.'

Logan opened his mouth to retort, but closed it as he caught Jean's eyes. They were staring at his chest, and he mentally congratulated his victory, as it was unseen by the visor-clad figure.

Almost Simultaneously, Logan and Scott thought, 'And score one for me.'
